Specification
QX-151 is Hydrophobic Fumed Silica with surface treatment of DDS (Dimethyldichlorosilane), which is manufactured with
basis on Hydrophilic Fumed Silica with specific surface area of 150 m2/g. It is a kind of high purity white colloidal powder.
Silica matting agents are commonly used in various industries, including coatings, inks, and plastics, to provide a matte
appearance to the final product. Hydrophobic Fumed Silica is a type of Silica Matting Agent that has been treated to be
water-repellent.
Hydrophobic fumed silica is produced by treating fumed silica with various hydrophobic agents, such as silanes or siloxa
-nes. This treatment modifies the surface of the silica particles, making them water-repellent and reducing their affinity for
moisture. When used as a Matting Agent, hydrophobic fumed silica can be dispersed in a variety of binders or resins to achi
-eve the desired matte effect. The silica particles create a rough surface texture, which scatters and diffuses light, resulting in
a matte appearance.
In addition to providing a matte finish, hydrophobic fumed silica also offers other benefits. It can improve scratch resistance,
increase
surface hardness, and enhance the overall durability of the coated or printed surface. It can also improve the anti-blocking
properties of films and prevent the sticking of surfaces.
Overall, hydrophobic fumed silica is a versatile matting agent that can be used in various applications to achieve a matte
appearance while providing additional performance benefits.
