Introduction:
In the anticorrosive coating formulation, silica is used as Silica Dioxide Anticorrosion Pigments like a
thickening, thixotropic, and anti deposition additive,thickening, anti settling, suspension and so on.The
filler and other additives can be uniformly dispersed in the resin, not precipitation phenomenon.Thixotropic
effect of silica makes the coating has excellent anti sagging property and thickness of coating performance,
improve the construction performance. It generally used for coil catings, Coil Coating Silica Anticorrosion
Pigment.
Mechanism of action: when the silicon dioxide Anticorrosion Silica Pigments is dispersed in non-polar liquid,
the silanol groups on different particle surfaces form a bridge through hydrogen bond interaction, and the
composition of this three-dimensional structure produces thickening effect. When the system is affected by the
mechanical force, such as stirring or shaking, the structure damage, mechanical force type and duration effects
determined by the extent of the damage, the result is the thickening system become liquid. If the stationary state
is maintained, the silica particles will be joined together to restore the original viscosity. This phenomenon is known
as pseudo plasticity.
