Powder coatings have four advantages over traditional coatings

1. Reduce environmental pollution
As environmental regulations increasingly tighten the limits of organic volatiles (VOC) in the atmosphere, the coatings industry is looking for ways to improve coating technology to reduce environmental pollution. After long-term experiments and tests, it was finally found that "powder coating" is an ideal coating technology that can be achieved at present.
Powder coatings do not use volatile solvents such as organic solvents and water. Therefore, powder coatings are inorganic solvent-based coatings, which greatly reduce the safety hazards caused by solvents, such as organic solvent poisoning incidents caused by organic solvents; or because Fire caused by organic solvents, etc. Since the introduction of powder coatings in the 1950s and 1960s, there have been no major safety accidents caused by powder coatings.
Powder coatings are 100% solid powdered coatings that can be fully automated. Excessive or super-sprayed powder coatings can be recycled and reused through a recycling system, so that powder coatings can be used up to 100%, enabling the coating industry to reduce waste disposal while reducing the level of environmental pollution to Lower.

2. Saving energy
Looking at the energy costs of powder coatings and liquid coatings. Liquid coatings contain organic volatiles, causing volatiles to volatilize into the atmosphere; powder coatings do not waste this, greatly reducing energy use.
The electrostatic coating machine has a large discharge volume and can be thickly coated at one time. It is not necessary to repeat the spraying or primer. In the case of the same film thickness, the coating operation using the powder coating is relatively quick, and the time cost can be saved.
No need for a stationary time (SettingTime) in the coating equipment saves equipment space. In addition, the baking time of the powder coating is also less than that of the liquid coating, so that the fuel energy can be greatly reduced, the painting line can be shortened, the production capacity can be improved, and the overall production efficiency can be promoted.

3. Excellent film properties
As long as the powder coating is directly sprayed on a suitable pre-treated iron or aluminum, etc., the surface of the coating film with excellent performance can be obtained by baking, such as the durability of the coating film, including: abrasion resistance, impact resistance, Adhesion, toughness, corrosion resistance and chemical resistance. In addition to the above advantages, powder coatings for outdoor use include high weather resistance and stain resistance. Especially for the thicker coating film, the powder coating can reach 50-300μm in one spray, and the leveling property is good, and there will be no dripping or stagnation when the solvent coating is thickly coated.
In order to improve the versatility of the powder coating, the color, gloss and surface flatness can be adjusted according to the customer's preference, even special metal powder coatings and some special wrinkle powder coatings.

4. Considerable economic benefits
Because the powder coating is sprayed using the electrostatic principle, the coating equipment can be fully automated without wasting human resources. Even if manual assistance is required, the painter can spray a good film without long-term training. The powder coating is 100% solids and requires no added solvent, saving packaging and reducing storage space. During the spraying process, if there is a poorly sprayed part, it can be blown off with an air spray gun before being baked, and then sprayed. Therefore, surface flow paint and dripping paint are less likely to occur, thereby reducing the probability of recoating rework. Among the components formed by the coating film, the solvent-based paint is about 60 to 65%, and the powder coating can reach almost 100%, and the powder not attached to the object to be sprayed can be recycled and reused. In general, using powder coating technology can increase production efficiency and economic efficiency.
